Colleen Wasinger was elected to represent the 3rd County Council District in November 2006 on a program of promoting good government practice, fiscal accountability, economic development, job creation, and building a strong sense of community with residents. Specifically, Colleen is:

Legislative Accomplishments

  • Sponsoring various zoning developments throughout the third district which brought green buildings to our district as well as created jobs and improved infrastructure development for our district.
  • Sponsored legislation that created a public/private partnership for support of an addition to the historic Magic House in Kirkwood;
  • Supporting legislation that brought infrastructure investment to our community such as the Barrett Station Road project and the Page-Olive Connector project;
  • Supported the new emergency communications project which will allow our police, fire and other first responders to communicate directly with each other;
  • Sponsored fiscal accountability legislation requiring performance audits for Metro;
  • Bringing communities together for regional cooperation during the Highway 40 project by sponsoring legislation for an intergovernmental agreement with various cities to operate and manage key sections of Clayton Road for the benefit of our region;
  • Supported legislation that keeps our children safe by requiring helmets
  • Supported legislation that supported our residents right to choose if our community should be smoke free;
  • Sponsored legislation promoting the safety of construction workers in our community;
  • Sponsored legislation improving our parks and supporting trails development throughout.
